WALLFLOWER

Venice Beach, CA

In these lazy days of summer I like to listen to mellow music, and daydream, and wish the skies were not so gray in July, and wait for the sun to burn it off. It’s been a cold summer. My mommy makes coffee and it smells bitter, and the steam mixes with the hazy beach sky and my dreams of butterflies and dragonflies and surf. I was thinking about what’s underneath the ocean when I saw a single dolphin cresting the waves. She made the shape of a “C”, and faded into the blue and mist and faded morning beachlight.
